Tummy Time

After Elissa's appointment today with Dr. Miller... "tummy time" is very important. Apparently, Elissa's head is slightly flat from laying on her back too much. She is getting very strong and is beginning to hold herself up. Not to mention notice herself in the mirror... Good news is that she has doubled her birthweight and is now 14 pounds and 25 inches long. Elissa is in the 90th %tile for height and weight. Dr. Miller reassured us that she is not "fat". She said to consider Elissa very healthy and to shoot anyone who may say she is too big! :) She had 4 shots today and wasn't feeling too fabulous. She can now have Tylenol and that really seemed to calm her. We go back for 5 shots on March 6th. I don't know who will be more bothered... Elissa or Mom!

We Love New Clothes!

As Elissa gets bigger by the minute, so does her wardrobe... we are now breaking into the 3 to 6 months and even some of the 6 - 9 months clothes. We really enjoy dress up time (Heather does more than Elissa!). The teachers at school are always excited about seeing her in a new outfit. This one is from friends Amy & Jason in Dripping Springs.

Elissa's First Day of School
Today was a hard day for Heather and Nick... they got up early and got
the little "pea" bathed and dressed to impress. Elissa slept on the way to school and barely noticed when we put her down in her "crib" at school. Heather maintained her composure throughout the paperwork process but didn't do so well pulling away from the school. Fortunately, Elissa's school is right around the corner from SYSCO so she isn't too far away. Her teacher said that she was a good baby and that she is really alert in the afternoons. She must have "played" really hard because Elissa was wiped out by the end of the day. She didn't have any problems falling to sleep that evening. This was great news for Heather and Nick! We hope the mornings will get a little easier and have fewer tears.

Happy New Year!

We hope that 2006 bring you and your family great things. Our new year started off great... with good friends, good food and lots of laughs.
Elissa and Nick cheered on the Texans for the last game of the season... it was a disappointing loss and we are sad to see Coach Capers go. However, we do look forward to the #1 draft pick!! Things can only get better from here...
