Nick Started Boot Camp...

For Elissa's 18 month birthday, Nick decided to try and get back into some kind of shape. This meant starting a boot camp that meets from 5 to 6 am Tuesdays and Thursdays. www.bodystyles.org In order to make sure he would get the most out of it, he decided to give up all beverages except water. That means ALL beverages. Beer, tea, diet Coke, and anything with caffeine. The first week started out with sickness the first day, (something about brisket the night before) and popping a "dew claw" tendon behind the calf the second day. Undaunted in his task, he managed to still go out Saturday morning at 6am and run a couple of circuits.
Week 2 was significantly better, with no more sickness and no more pulls. Thursday even resulted in Nick sweating so bad that he was steaming in the early morning air. His drill instructor noticed, so Nick commented that it was weakness leaving the body, encouraging words provided by Nicks' good friend Greg. Saturday morning came and again, Nick made it for another self motivated workout. Nick hasn't stepped on a scale yet, (something about fears of being discouraged if he didn't loose a lot or fears of overconfidence if he did) but he will jump on the scale after all is done. The good news, Elissa is moving around so fast that Nick has no time to nurse any pain that he thinks he may be feeling! Wish him luck as he continues his diet of Ozarka spring water, chicken breasts, and fresh vegetables. By the way, always remember to take Calcet before you go to bed and when you wake up. It seems to keep the leg cramps away. The occasional banana also assists in preventing pain, but Elissa has gained a taste for them, so he has to fight the 18 month old for this treat!
